Science Education

About Department

The main aim of the Science Education program is to train science teachers who are able to cope with the challenges of the 21st century, who can better transfer science to future generations, and who are diligent and enthusiastic in their field. The program also aims to educate pre-service science teachers as individuals who are confident in using technology, have problem solving skills, and are sensitive to human rights, democracy and ethical values. Our program also aims to give importance to the critical thinking and professional development of prospective science teachers and to provide students with the characteristics that a qualified teacher should have.

With the education we provide for these purposes;

can use instructional technologies effectively;
have advanced knowledge in the field;
can communicate well with their students;
questioning, questioning and giving importance to research;
teacher candidates to our country.

In addition to the computer classrooms within the faculty offered to the students as physical facilities of the Science Education program;

Within the scope of the courses taken during the education process of the students of the Science Education program, in addition to the courses in the field of Science and Elementary Mathematics
they can take courses containing theoretical knowledge and practical applications for the teaching of these fields and general pedagogy courses;
They can take elective courses from our department and other departments in line with their interests and abilities.
Science Education program students have the opportunity to double major in Elementary Mathematics Education program. In this way, they can follow the courses in this field by applying to the relevant program.

Among the job opportunities of our teacher candidates who graduate from the Science Education program,

can work as a branch teacher in public or private schools,
academician in higher education institutions,
specialist in community and science centers.
